- What is a Drifting Dunes retreat weekend?
- An escape designed for scrapbooking, quilting & other crafting enthusiasts. It is a place to get away and create.
- How many crafters can each home accommodate?
- Our Augusta location has 11 workstations. Our Grand Haven location has 10.
- What is the cost of a retreat weekend?
- $1180 + 6% tax. This rate is for the entire home (NOT per person), Noon Friday until 6pm Sunday. Additional nights can be reserved for $250 +6% tax. Contact us to book at this special rate.
- What time is check-in and check-out for retreat weekends?
- To allow you the most time to create, check-in is noon on Friday and check-out is by 6 PM on Sunday. Additional nights can be added to your weekend at a discounted rate of $250 per night.
- When are retreat weekends available?
- Grand Haven - Labor Day to Memorial Day
- Augusta - Year Round
- Do you allow non-scrapbookers? We don’t craft, but would like to rent your house for a family gathering. Is this OK and do you have cribs and high chairs?
- We welcome groups of all types, and do not discriminate against non-crafters. We are able to provide 2 high chairs, 2 portacribs/pack-&-plays, and stair gates upon request. We also can provide the contact information for a reliable childcare service.
- What are the sleeping accommodations? Will I have to share a bed or sleep on the top bunk?
- No one shares a bed or has to sleep in a top bunk.
- Do I need to bring bedding/linens?
- Each bed is made with fresh, clean sheets, a crisply covered comforter, a throw and pillows. Additionally each guest receives a set of plush bathroom towels. It is not necessary to bring these items unless you prefer your own. Additional pillows, blankets and towels are also readily available.
- What dining options are offered for retreat weekends?
- Your reservation at Drifting Dunes is for a self-serve group retreat weekend. This means that we do not provide meals. Drifting Dunes comes with a fully equipped kitchen with appliances (including an electric skillet and several slow cookers), cookware, dinnerware, and silverware available for use. There is plenty of space for guests to store their food in the cupboards and refrigerator. Guests prepare meals around their schedule. How much time you spend in the kitchen is up to you. There are also options for dining out or catering in.
- Do you allow smoking or pets?
- Drifting Dunes is a non-smoking and pet-free facility. Smoking is permitted outside. We do not allow pets on the property.
- Do I need to be in a group or can I come by myself?
- We think your privacy is important, so we only rent to one group each weekend. It’s up to you if you want to come with just a couple of friends or fill all the beds.
- What if we don’t have a group of ten?
- Your group can be any size that you desire. Simply divide the rental cost between each of your friends to get the cost per person. Once you book a weekend, you are responsible for the full amount regardless of how many you have coming.
- How much space is there for each person to work?
- Each guest will have their own 6ft table, with lamp, power outlets and USB port. We also have free high speed Internet.
