ABOUT THE OWNERS

Hi! We are Rich and Marcie. We have been married for 15 years. We live in Kalamazoo, Michigan with our 3 boys, ages 9, 7 & 3.

Having spent many vacations in rental properties in the USA and Europe, we decided in 2016 to purchase our own property and start our own rental business here in our home state of  Michigan.

Pulling from our experience as vacation renters, you’ll find our homes to be extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. We manage the properties ourselves and we are available 24/7 should you need us during your stay.

What a gorgeous and comfy home! Rich was absolutely awesome w instantaneous communication when we had questions and when I was looking for bike locks so we could ride their awesome bikes they brought us over some, as the old ones had disappeared. They even left us fresh, homemade banana bread!

Loved this roomy and spotless home on wooded lot close to Lake Michigan beaches

Our family stayed at Drifting Dunes over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were seeking a scenic break from south Florida…looking for colorful trees, fresh water beaches, bike/hiking paths and great golf. And BOY DID THIS PLACE DELIVER! We enjoyed making a holiday feast in the large/well equipped kitchen. The wood burning fireplace was a real treat. The house was roomy yet cozy, spotless and peaceful. We hiked miles of pristine Lake Michigan beach and several nearby sand dunes…loved Rosy Mound. Biked miles of safe, maple-lined paths along Lakeshore Drive (incredible views), and golfed at a really challenging nearby course. My family looks forward to booking a week at this place in the summer months when he can spend more time on nearby Buchanan Beach, and do more exploring in the nearby artist communities of Saugatuck and Grand Haven.

I had a fabulous getaway weekend at the Drifting Dunes Retreat Home. Despite the rainy, cool weather, we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. The calming decor and the detail to attention make this a fabulous retreat. They thought of it all…hooks for towels aplenty, water bottles by the beds, extra toiletries and ear plugs in the bathroom in case you forget yours, a personal note with contact info and sunrise times, bikes for your use, a grill, extra super soft blankets in the closets, fast wi-fi, great deck loungers and porch chairs, TV’s in every bedroom, well stocked kitchen, comfy computer chairs, magazines….so many great things. Look forward to returning to your awesome retreat!

Friends and Family Christmas

We met some friends over Christmas weekend at Drifting Dunes, and it was a special holiday for our two families of four. The kitchen was big enough to accommodate the initial grocery drop on arrival, and was easy to settle into. I was excited to find it stocked with an electric griddle, so blueberry pancake breakfast was snap. The kids weren’t convinced Santa would find them there, but he did! And, there was plenty of space for them to spread out toys and play games. The beach was a close walk. It is an amazing sight in the winter, but we’re looking forward to the summer when we can take a longer, warmer look.

Girls Weekend

Thoroughly enjoyed our “Girls Weekend” (1/6/2017 thru 1/8/2017) at Drifting Dunes!! The kitchen worked well for our planned slow cooker meals, was extremely well stocked, very clean, and modern. The house was clean, fresh, and the beds very comfortable. Ample towels were provided which was a big plus. Owners were great to work with and we really liked the “out of season weekender” policy that allowed us to stay until 6 P.M. on Sunday (other properties we have rented have had an late morning check-out or made us pay for an additional day!). The home had a great variety of books and current magazines in the book rack. I look forward to booking my family vacation this summer at Drifting Dunes!! The beach is so close and the sunsets are spectacular!!! Definitely would recommend it to others!!
